The Enlightening Sustainability project aims to replace AMIC’s outdated, inefficient lighting, which is currently below standard and costly to maintain. By upgrading to modern, energy-efficient LED lighting, we will create a brighter, safer and more welcoming environment for the more than 1,000 people who use the mosque and community centre each week, including worshippers, students and local groups. This improvement will significantly reduce energy consumption, cut carbon emissions and lower running costs, allowing savings to be redirected to vital community services. We are a local charity enthusiastic and ambitious to make a positive impact in our local community. We would love to provide a warm and inviting community space for groups to use, for our local community to participate in our activities, socialise and feel welcome in our centre. We plan to improve the energy efficiency of our building by purchasing solar panels and battery back up. Achieving this project will help us make the warm, inviting place for all to enjoy and be part of, plus reduce our outgoing costs to help increase our free events we organise.

We will upgrade and install new storage with green roofs at Greyhope Bay. This will cut down on trips between the Centre and our office, create habitats for pollinators, and help volunteers develop practical green skills to maintain the green roof. The improved storage will withstand the wild wind at Torry Battery and make the site more welcoming. Storage may seem like a small thing, but it is an area we can improve to benefit the environment, brighten the site, and give people hands-on opportunities to learn, grow, and engage with this creative community space.

Instant Neighbour supports thousands of households across Aberdeen each year through our food bank, reuse projects, and poverty relief services. We have already invested in solar panels to reduce our carbon footprint and running costs. Installing battery storage will allow us to store the renewable energy we generate, reducing reliance on the grid, cutting bills, and charging our electric van sustainably. This will free up funds for frontline services, reduce CO₂ emissions, and show leadership in Aberdeen’s journey to net zero. With your support, we can power change for both people and the planet.

We are transforming an empty, unused space on Greenfern Road into a vibrant, accessible community garden filled with seating, raised planters, pathways, and greenery. This will be a welcoming place for everyone - families, schools, older residents, and those with limited mobility - to relax, connect, and grow food together. With pollinator-friendly planting, rainwater collection, and wildlife habitats, the garden will boost biodiversity while offering hands-on learning about sustainability. By turning a neglected site into a thriving hub of activity, the project will bring people together, improve wellbeing, and give Mastrick a new green space to be proud of.

NERVS seeks funding to purchase an electric vehicle, advancing our mission of community service and sustainability. An EV will reduce fuel and maintenance costs, cutting expenses so more resources go directly to programs. It will lower our carbon footprint, showcase environmental leadership, and serve as a visible symbol of innovation and responsibility. With reliable, clean transportation, NERVS can reach more people, respond faster, and operate more efficiently. This grant will empower NERVS to model the future of sustainable mobility while maximizing impact for the communities we serve.

Our 150-year-old building is more than a landmark - it's a lifeline for the community. Home to a café and food bank supporting low-income families, it brings people together and provides vital help where it's needed most. To secure its future, we will install solar panels to generate clean electricity and add insulation to cut heat loss, energy bills, and carbon emissions. These upgrades will protect the building's historic fabric while meeting modern environmental standards. With your support, we can preserve its character, strengthen its community role, and prove even the oldest buildings can lead in tackling climate change.

By supporting the installation of energy-efficient insulation, voltage optimiser and heating we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint and wider environmental impact and in doing so make a warmer, greener and more sustainable environment, benefiting customers and the community. The changes support our aspiration to become the greenest bakery in Aberdeen and the North East. These improvements will allow additional investment in training, educational, cultural and social activities for our adults with a learning disability helping them reach their full potential as strong contributors in the community and your vote supports a proven and sustainable Charity to make a difference.

We would like to run a monthly repair Café in Tillydrone at the Tillydrone Community Campus. The repair cafe would be ran by volunteers with different fixing skills. It would be open to all to come along and see if we can help. We are hoping to secure funding to pay for the tools required for fixing different items (including electrical and clothing), helping save people money and less items in landfill.

Please help us install solar panels on our shed roof to help us charge our battery tools and ensure they are always ready for use but, most importantly allow us to make, and share, a hot cuppa after a hard day’s work.

We also want to install water barrels around the site to encourage bees, butterflies and insects to come and drink then routinely come back to help us increase diversity and productivity.
