Location

Applications received for consideration must be led by a group/organisation who are delivering projects within Aberdeenshire.

Legal structure
We will accept applications from not-for-profit community, voluntary and third sector organisations with a strong community focus. Eligible applicants include associations, community groups, clubs, partnerships and consortiums.

The range of organisations that can apply are:

Co-operative
Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC)
Community Benefit Society
Community Council
Community Interest Company (CIC) Ltd by Guarantee
Community Interest Company (CIC) Ltd by Shares
Company Ltd by Guarantee
Friendly Society
Industrial & Provident Society (IPS)
Parent Council
Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO)
Trust
Voluntary Group or Unincorporated Association
Unconstituted Groups
Unconstituted groups must be working in partnership with a constituted group/organisation and use that group/organisation’s bank account for managing the grant. Any item(s) purchased using the grant will remain the property of the constituted group and they must be willing to provide access to the item(s) as required by the unconstituted group.

A letter of partnership will be required with the application form, signed by all parties, to be considered for the grant. This is to enable smaller, ‘heart of the community’ type groups to benefit from The Fund and deliver their services/projects within their communities.
Social Enterprises can apply to this fund if they operate in line with the following principles:

1. Operate on an asset-locked basis, meaning that any surplus income is reinvested in the organisation's social purpose and is not distributed to directors, members or shareholders.

2. Agree that any assets purchased or owned by the organisation remain the property of the organisation and cannot be transferred to, or personally owned by, individuals associated with it.

Bank Account
Income/Funding tiers
To improve access to funding for smaller community groups and organisations, while ensuring grants remain proportionate to organisational capacity, the Fund offers two funding levels. Income thresholds are based on the organisation's most recent financial year.

Organisations with an income of up to £500,000 in their most recent financial year can apply to this Fund. Previous applicants may apply again in Round 6, provided they meet the current funding criteria.
