Ellon Castle Gardens
1

Sustainable Seating for Community Comfort

£7,540.00

Ellon Castle Gardens is tranquil community space where visitors come to connect with nature. Sitting and picnicking amongst the flora and fauna is a great way for the community to enjoy the mental health benefits of socialising outdoors.
Our wooden benches require regular maintenance which involves transporting them by lorry to Aberdeen to be dipped in a chemical bath. The timber eventually degrades and needs replacing. Our preferred, more sustainable, alternative is recycled plastic furniture which is low-maintenance and extremely durable. It does not require painting or replacement, reducing the carbon emissions associated with new materials, transport, and maintenance.

Ellon Wheel Park Group (SC052816)
1

Ellon Wheel Park Upgrades

£5,000.00

The Ellon Wheel Park has been a great success, and the facility has proved to be hugely popular with both the community in Ellon and visitors to the town.
The Wheel Park Group are committed to making the park even better and listening to feedback from the users, we would like to;

• Improve access to upper and lower levels by introducing a set of steps.
• Provide more seating for visitors by installing more rustic benches.
• Plant out an area with biodiverse plants to improve the ecological habitat.

We would love your support to achieve these upgrades.

Finzean Bucket Mill CIC
1

A Loader, Logs and Loads of Tools for the Bucket Mill

£50,000.00

We are working hard to bring the Finzean Bucket Mill back to life. It's a water powered sawmill from 1853 and we use the process of repair to teach endangered heritage craft skills. We are seeking funding for some game-changing tools and equipment: Our Plan A (if you can lend us your vote!) is for an electric skid-steer (an all- terrain forklift) or our Plan B would be to fund a delivery of local logs which we will turn into the timber we need to fuel the next repairs, along with lots more tools that will help us welcome more volunteers and trainees to learn about the specialist repairs we have planned to the waterwheel and historic machinery.

FoodLink NE
1

Driving Food Change - putting sustainable, local food on the road to success from wheel to plate

£37,212.78

This project will cut carbon emissions, improve food security and build true climate resilience by keeping community wealth in the North East. We are empowering our communities with the ability to feed ourselves.
Vote for us to put sustainable, local food on the road to success from wheel to plate.

Gamrie Gardens CIC

£2,831.20

Lack of access has been a barrier to participating in our community project for over four years. Our new entrance will open up 11+ additional allotment plots, allow us to host school visits and workshops, and reduce roadside parking issues.
Now we need your vote to help us landscape the area with native, perennial plants chosen to provide food and shelter for wildlife, while keeping the entrance beautiful and in harmony with the landscape.
Your vote will help provide the tools and plants our volunteers need to improve this space together, benefiting both people and wildlife for years to come! Thank you :)

Keeping our costs down helps keep our letting fees down which in turn minimises the costs for the Hall users leaving more money in their pockets.

STEM at The Garvock Goodlife CIC
1

Electric Mower to Increase Nature Access

£26,127.21

STEM at The Garvock Goodlife is a social enterprise providing outdoor Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths sessions for young people in Aberdeenshire. We break down the walls for learning to experience STEM in an outdoor environment. We work particularly closely with neurodivergent young people struggling to access education in the classroom.
Purchasing an electric ride-on mower and brushcutter will allow us to make a range of currently inaccessible outdoor areas at our re-wilded site available to young people for learning, including newly planted woodland and meadowland. Young people can then experience biodiversity first-hand and carry out STEM experiments outdoors.

Tarland Development Group
1

A Sustainable Path For All: Coull Link Project

£50,000.00

Help us complete the Coull Access Link and remove a long-standing barrier on The Tarland Way between Tarland and Aboyne. The new off-road, fenced diversion will create a safe, accessible route for walkers, cyclists, horses, wheelchair users and families. It will reconnect the full route, giving people greater confidence to walk, wheel and cycle for everyday journeys and leisure. By making active travel safer and more inclusive, the project will reduce reliance on cars, improve access to the countryside, support health and wellbeing, and create a lasting community asset for everyone to enjoy.

The Bailies of Bennachie

Timeline Path Upgrade

£50,000.00

Our aim is to upgrade the iconic timeline path up Bennachie, which is one of the most popular routes up this famous Aberdeenshire hill.  The path has become significantly eroded by water and footfall in recent years and with landowners having tight budgets, we have committed to reconstruct the path. It will cost £100,000.  The benefit will be that the path will be safer and more enjoyable for all ages who climb the hill.  This is hopefully the first of many paths that we will restore creating a legacy that will be a benefit for generations to come.

Greener Journeys For Beannachar

£34,685.00

Help Beannachar drive towards a greener future. We want to purchase a five-seat electric car to provide cleaner, more flexible transport. Many of the young adults have learning disabilities and need 1:1 support to travel. Their dedicated vehicles make it possible for them to enjoy forest walks, visit local farms, attend medical appointments, access work opportunities and explore their local community. Your vote could help make more adventures possible, with fewer emissions along the way. Please support us.
