Gift Aid
Important Notes:

  • Please make sure the team have clear access to the property, this includes keeping pathways clear and non slippy. 
  • We will try to call on the day with an updated time but this may not be possible.
  • The final decision on item uplift is with the collection team. They will have a checklist to complete on the day and will not take anything that fails to meet the criteria. This may include if it is damaged, worn or not working.
  • Items must be free from smoke odour/damage or pet hairs.
  • Due to new legislations regarding POPs (Persistent Organic Pollutants), Magpie cannot accept ANY electrical items pre-dating 2009 and ANY upholstered items including cushions that have any damage or worn patches (even the smallest amount) pre-dating 2019. If we are unsure, we will not be able to accept.

  • Please note that any items donated to Magpie change from donors ownership to Magpies. Items cannot be returned. 
Terms & Conditions:

Scope Of Services:

Magpie provides a collection service for donated items to support its charitable activities.

The service includes the collection of furniture, household items, and other donations as agreed upon.

Collection Request:

Requests for collection must be made using the provided form, including a full list of items and any important directions.

Magpie reserves the right to refuse collection of items that do not meet our acceptance criteria.

Acceptance Criteria:

Items must be in good condition, free from damage, wear, and fully functional.

No items with smoke odour, smoke damage, or pet hairs will be accepted.

Electrical items pre-dating 2009 and upholstered items with any damage or worn patches pre-dating 2019 will not be accepted due to legislations regarding Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs).

Gift Aid:

Donors have the option to apply Gift Aid to their donations. By agreeing to Gift Aid, donors allow Magpie to reclaim an additional 25% in tax on eligible donations made by UK taxpayers.

Access and Liability:

The property must be inspected to ensure the access route is clear and to note any existing damage prior to the collection/delivery.

Magpie will not be liable for damage caused by moving goods under express instruction against our advice.

If damage occurs due to our negligence, our liability is limited to making good the damaged area only.

Confirmation and Communication:

Magpie will confirm collection requests via email as soon as possible.

While we will attempt to provide updated collection times via phone, this may not always be possible.

General:

Magpie reserves the right to refuse collection of any item at our discretion.

By requesting a collection, donors agree to these terms and conditions.
